The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) is the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for careers. This area offers information about the history, mission and structure of ACTE, as well as details on our annual awards program.
Original Website environment:
ACTE was utilizing a number of proprietary technology systems with some website integration. Each system required a duplication of resources in relation to member services, member login, registrations and purchasing. Additionally, the website had some content management capability, but was held hostage by the template set and the lack of flexibility available to the content providers.
Redesigned/Developed Environment:
Hodgson created a user experience that allowed the main messages and calls to action that ACTE wanted to be visible on the website – placing emphasis on the revenue generating functions of the association. Hodgson also, through the user interface, enabled the user to quickly and effectively find the content and information they were looking for (this was also enhanced by utilizing the Ektron search functionality).
From a technical stand point, Hodgson implemented the Ektron CMS400 and integrate iMIS (the Association Management System) enabling members seamless access to member only information and offers and requiring a single log in. These integrations also streamlined the procurement process from an accounting side as the CMS and AMS passed data between the systems.
Hodgson utilized a Project Manager, a DBA, a Designer, Developers and a QA/QC resource over a period of four months to redesign, develop and integrate all the systems.
