TANDBERG (Now a Part of Cisco)

About TANDBERG (Now a Part of Cisco)

TANDBERG, a long-time Hodgson client, was a leading global provider of visual communication products and services with dual headquarters in New York and Norway. TANDBERG was known for designing, developing and marketing systems and software for video, voice, and data. In 2010, TANDBERG became a part of Cisco Systems, Inc.

The Challenge

Post-acquisition, TANDBERG was tasked with leveraging their high profile web properties as key demand generation tools for Cisco. This required aligning these web properties with Cisco brand guidelines and supporting Cisco in the creation of new sites and tools for upcoming campaigns.

The Solution

Cisco engaged Hodgson to perform the following tasks:

  • Work closely with the legacy TANDBERG web team to develop a strategy that would bring all key TANDBEG web properties in line with Cisco brand guidelines. This included changing content, images, headers, footers and logos on the corporate site (www.tandberg.com), all 32 international websites, and the Business Advantage Calculator (www.businessadvantagecalculator.com).
  • Redesign the TANDBERG Partner Portal, which is a localized document management system (DMS) and library, to meet requirements from Cisco stakeholders and to meet Cisco brand guidelines. This involved redesigning the portal, gathering requirements from content administrators, and updating the back end to meet these requirements. After launch, Hodgson trained all content administrators to use the new portal. Hodgson was also engaged in migrating documents, content, and users from an internal Cisco partner hub to the newly designed partner portal.
  • Work closely with the legacy TANDBERG web team and external Cisco stakeholders to build a new site focused on demand generation which would support an upcoming major Cisco campaign. This required a strong focus on project management to gather constantly changing requirements. Hodgson recommended a CMS solution, implemented the CMS solution, built HTML templates from PSDs, populated the HTML templates with content, and created a custom RSS feed aggregation component that leverages Cisco’s social media channels to create an interactive user experience.
  • Coordinate with the Cisco consumer division to create a new website in support of a new product launch.
  • Administer and manage the local, development, and hosting environments for all legacy TANDBERG sites and new Cisco sites.

Since 2005, Hodgson has provided TANDBERG—and now Cisco—with a full set of resources well-versed in both the marketing and technological needs of the company.

Hodgson’s dedicated web team utilizes the following technologies when maintaining the Cisco web properties: JAVA, JSP Servlets, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Eloqua, and XML.
